Winter Cross Country League

Start of April to the end of September.

Novice pilots can submit three flights without a track log that can be verified by a minimum of one reliable witness.
Winners to be awarded for Novice, Intermediate and Advanced rated Pilots at the AGM.

Mt Cole Challenge

Start exit circle of 2km radius around Ben Nevis waypoint - flight time begins the last time tracklog leaves circle
Turnpoint circle of 400m radius around both Mt Cole & Mt Misery waypoints - flight log must show trackpoints inside these circles
Finish entry circle of 1km radius around Dynamic Flight Park waypoint - flight time ends when tracklog first enters circle.
To be eligible, entire flight must no exceed the 8500' ASL ceiling. This will require 3D tracklocks.

Flight validity will be determined by examining tracklogs to ensure all start, turnpoint & finish circles have trackpoints in them. No need to use race scoring programs, this can be done with Garmin MAPSOURCE. Tracklog must be complete & unbroken (always start with fresh batteries).
Tracklogs must be submitted in IGC format to be valid for OLC (on-line contest) - use GPSDUMP (free to download http://www.multinett.no/~stein.sorensen/)
This eliminates the need for "reliable witnesses" as the files cannot be altered without becoming invalid.
Flight time is the elapsed time between crossing the start & finish circles.
